How to change the LaunchPad folder background in OS X 10.7 Lion:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/ecsb_background_tile.png
Replace this file with any 256x256 .png
Also may want to modify:
/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock.app/Contents/Resources/ecsb_group.png
As always, backup your files…
